Using some creative markering, the barista covered up some words on Laura Robert’s takeaway coffee cup to spell out the words:

’Careful, you’re extremely hot.’

Not the worst, and we would be more offended by the way he spelled ’Laura’.

But Laura’s mother Alex Blaine was not impressed when she saw it and posted it to the Facebook page ’Shit London’ with the caption:

"Creepy barista writing inappropriate messages on my daughter’s coffee. Looks like son in-law material."

The post attracted a lot of attention with many agreeing with Alex.

Laura told the Daily Mail, however, that the barista was, in fact, "a lovely boy" and she wasn’t bothered.

I don’t find it creepy and I didn’t feel intimidated,’ she said. ’I’ve got a fiance so sadly he’s out of luck but I’m sure I’m not the only one he’s done it for.

’He’s a nice boy and he wouldn’t have been trying to offend anyone.’

Laura plans on apologising to the barista for all the fuss the next time she’s in getting her coffee.

So it’s all a storm in a coffee cup, really.
