Everyone on the internet is freaking out over the colours of this dress

Overnight, the internet descended into madness as people all over the world argued over the colour of a dress.

It all started on Tumblr when a a 21-year-old Scottish singer named Caitlin McNeill posted a photo of a dress worn recently to a friend's wedding.

She was asking for help:

"guys please help me - is this dress white and gold, or blue and black? Me and my friends can't agree and we are freaking the f**k out"

Here's the photo in question:

Clearly it's blue and black right? RIGHT? The question has divided our office as well as social media for hours and it looks like the two sides are never going to agree.

It's not an understatement to say that The Dress has taken over the internet today as people argue back and forth over the colours.
