Dublin pub starts ’Welfare Wednesday’ drinks promotion

The controversial promotion offers a range of drinks from a pint of Heineken to a measure of Jameson for just €3 and is available on presentation of a social welfare card or bus pass.

'Welfare Wednesday' takes it place alongside the Coolock bar's other weekly offers such as 'Thirsty Thursday' and 'Get F**ked Friday'.

With unemployment still a national issue, this offer is sure to generate plenty of debate.

And free advertising for the pub in question.
