Pixar’s 2008 tale of a loved-up robot will appeal to a whole new generation of young fans.

Ben Stiller directs and stars in this spoof war film about a bunch of actors whose life on the film set becomes disturbingly real. It’s followed by Senna (10.55pm) in what makes for a decent evening’s viewing.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes
TV3, 9pm
Andy Serkis and Freida Pinto are among the stars of this 2011 offering from the franchise. We see the scientific experiments that gave the apes added intelligence and paved the way for them to usurp humans.
Gafa sa Túr
TG4, 9.30pm
The latest episode on Irish people in the Tower of London looks at the case of Gaelic lord Brian Ó Ruairc who spent time there before being executed for helping survivors of the Spanish Armada who were wrecked on the Irish coast in 1588.
Snooker: World Championships: Final

There are a maximum of 10 frames to decide who will win the 2015 World Championship and take home a prize of £300,000.
Handmade: Glass
BBC Four, 9pm
The first of three documentaries in the series on traditional crafts looks at the creation of a simple glass jug. It’s followed by
(9.30pm), in which bladesmith Owen Bush uses a combination of ancient and modern techniques to create a metal knife; while
(Wednesday: 8pm) follows the five-day process in the making of a classic Windsor chair. The chair is made with a combination of ash, elm and yew, using just two screws and no glue.
Game of Thrones
Sky Atlantic, 9pm
An episode entitled ‘The Sons of the Harpy’ gets its name from the insurgents causing havoc for Daenerys. Help may be at hand, however, as our favourite character, Tyrion Lannister, seems to be heading in her direction. He’s drunk and despondent, but presumably has a part to play in future proceedings.
Inside The Factory: How Our Favourite Foods Are Made
BBC Two, 8pm
One of those shows where we see how mass-produced food is created. First up is a look inside at a huge bread-making factory. Along the way we also hear how bread in previous eras was often adulterated with ingredients such as chalk and ash by unscrupulous bakers. Episode two tomorrow takes us inside a chocolate factory producing thousands of bars and Easter eggs.

Suzie Cahn tries to create a permaculture garden, where her clients – a young Dublin family – can both entertain and grow vegetables.

We’re up to the fourth-last episode in the current series, so fasten your seatbelts for an even greater avalanche of twists, turns and revelations over the weeks ahead. Tonight, we see Victoria being attacked, and also resorting to a rather dramatic act.

Meanwhile, Garda Sharon finds a dead rat in her locker. In tomorrow’s episode, Brian is confronted by his daughter over rumours of his involvement with Rachel.

The final episode in what has been a decent series hears complaints about telecoms company Yourtel and, in a big week for bread on the telly, looks at how our loaves are made.

This series will confirm and confound all your prejudices about both genders. Tonight’s visit to the women’s island sees some of the group getting themselves into a very serious situation, with an emergency team needed to come to their aid.
Charlie Brooker’s Election Wipe

If you find British politics even more boring than our own, at least Brooker’s humorously cynical slant on proceedings should provide some entertainment.

The format isn’t to everyone’s liking, but this show really has provided some great ogling for those with an interest in property and design. Tonight we see a a self-build log cabin, as well as a renovated mews, and a Victorian house where the period features have been married to a contemporary makeover.

We’ve definitely seen more interesting line-ups, but perhaps Miranda Hart and Rupert Everett will charm with some enjoyable anecdotes.
