CMAT has said she was “very honoured” to appear on NPR’s popular Tiny Desk concert series this week.

“I’m very, very honoured and excited to be at this teeny, tiny, itsy, bitsy, itty, bitty desk,” she said from behind the office desk at NPR Music’s headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Introducing her performance on the series, which has hosted some of the biggest names in the industry since launching in 2008, she said: “I think that the comment section of this video is going to be really…” before turning around to show off her cut-out jeans.

“...Normal and sexy,” she continued before she and The Very Sexy CMAT Band launched into Take A Sexy Picture of Me.

She also performed I Wanna Be a Cowboy, Baby! and When a Good Man Cries.

Before belting out I Wanna Be a Cowboy, Baby!, CMAT showed NPR’s Tiny Desk production employees how to perform the Dunboyne two-step. Once they had the two-step down, she asked one final important question.

“What do you want to be?” She asked. “A cowboy,” her band answered.

Before her final song, CMAT acknowledged that she has been a fan of the Tiny Desk series for quite a long time and that it felt “really weird” to be appearing on it.

She said that because it was a “special and unique” moment, she would play an additional song that she normally doesn’t play live because it upsets her.

She said the song, Lord, Let That Tesla Crash, was written in memory of her friend who she said would “get a kick out of” the fact that she performed it during her Tiny Desk concert.

Her performance was met with applause from production staff present, and fans flooded the comment section underneath the YouTube video with praise for the Meath-born singer.
