Dermot Kennedy announces two Cork dates next summer

Dermot Kennedy will play Musgrave Park (Virgin Media Park) next summer 

Dermot Kennedy, who played Electric Picnic in 2025, has announced two Cork gigs for next summer.

Singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy has announced two shows at Cork’s Musgrave Park (Virgin Media Park) next summer.

The Dubliner, who rose to fame following the release of his popular singles Outnumbered and Power Over Me, announced three Irish outdoor gigs for 2027 on Monday, including two nights in Cork and a third night at Belsonic in Belfast.

Kennedy will play Musgrave Park on Wednesday, June 23 and Thursday, June 24 next year. He will play Belfast on Saturday, June 26.

Posting the news on his Instagram account on Monday morning, he wrote: “I'm so, so happy and excited to announce some big new Irish shows. Cork and Belfast, I can't wait to see you!! Thank you for always supporting.” 

Earlier this year, Kennedy appeared on The Tommy Tiernan Show to talk about his new music, how he brings his loved ones’ experiences to life through his songwriting, and renovating a house in a remote part of Dublin.

Reflecting on his songwriting process, he opened up about his focus on personal experiences, love, and loss, and how he brings the experiences of those in his life on stage with him, touching on how he feels “very nostalgic” when he writes.

Dublin singer-songwriter Aaron Rowe, who supported Lewis Capaldi on tour last year, including at the 3Arena in Dublin, will support Kennedy at his Cork shows next year.

Pre-sale tickets will go on sale on Wednesday, October 14 at 10am. General sale opens on Friday, October 16 at 10am local time. Fans signed up to Kennedy’s mailing list can register for the presale by visiting the official website here. 

The 2027 dates mark Kennedy’s first full-band shows in either city in more than five years, and follow a 2026 that saw the release of his third UK and Ireland number 1 album The Weight of the Woods, arena tours of the UK and Europe, two sold-out dates at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium and an ongoing full North American tour.

Kennedy continues to tour Texas, Colorado, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington, Oregon, and Canada this month.
