RTÉ new season shows revealed: KIN, The Traitors, DIY SOS, Tommy Tiernan, and more
RTÉ's new season of programming features a wide range of new documentaries and human-focused stories, as well as fresh, home-grown entertainment, new comedy, free-to-air sport, news and current affairs, and arts and culture programming.
RTÉ has announced a season of fresh, original content, marking 100 years of public service broadcasting in Ireland.

Some of the upcoming season’s highlights include a new season of popular reality show and a new season of as well as the new dark, comedic drama series written by creator Stuart Carolan and co-created with Chris Addison.

New comedy is also coming soon to RTÉ, supporting both emerging voices and established talent. This December, new comedy-entertainment RTÉ Lab series follows the hosts PJ Kirby and Kevin Twomey as they jump head-first into Ireland’s most passionate and unique communities to learn what makes them tick.
RTÉ’s comedy problem-child is back with stars Emma Doran, Justine Stafford, Killian Sundermann, Seán Burke, and Michael Fry, who are joined by the biggest names in comedy such as Pat Shortt and Siobhán McSweeney, and the brightest up-and-coming talent including Rachel Galvo, Ally Ryan, and Aoife Dunne.
Audience favourite is also coming soon to RTÉ with a new series, as well as a new comedy series from Ross McCarney, Ryan Carrick, and the team behind Comedy Joe. And a feature documentary, sees stand-up meets reality as comedian Joanne McNally lifts the curtain on her hectic, hilarious life on stage and off stage.
New documentary series include will follow Garron on his first US trip as he cheekily explores Ireland’s influence on American culture; a three-part series offering unique access to the Irish Coast Guard, customs, and naval service; and a two-part series hosted by Claire Brock, featuring Sophie Morris, exploring the increasing cost of groceries.
The new season also includes an RTÉ Investigates series examining Ireland’s fertility sector, 40 years on from the first baby born in Ireland via IVF, as well as a documentary marking 100 years of RTÉ, Meanwhile, the team will deliver in-depth coverage of the big events, including Budget 2027, and delve into the key issues impacting Ireland.
returns to RTÉ for a brand-new series this season and in the New Year, will see architect Dermot Bannon back to bring his signature vision to a range of homes, while quantity surveyor Claire Irwin keeps a close eye on the budgets. A new series of Dermot Bannon's is also coming soon, as Bannon once again steps inside the homes of well-known celebrities.
This autumn, two special episodes of will pay tribute to the late Hugh Wallace and celebrate his outstanding contribution to Ireland's architectural heritage. returns for a new series on RTÉ One. The big-hearted also returns for a brand-new series as Baz Ashmawy marshals an army of volunteer builders, trades, suppliers, neighbours and friends to help four families in need.
The new season will also include some great cooking programme, including a brand-new series of with chef Nico Reynolds; with Donal Skehan and festive cooking specials in December, including an Asian Christmas special from Eva Pau and the return of
Favourite returns for a thrilling third series in the New Year, while true-crime series returns for a gripping fifth series, and also returns in the New Year.
The new season programming will also include new, original podcasts focusing on true crime, mysteries, and the very best of Irish sport, including a daily sports podcast presented by Ger Gilroy.
This season is a big one for Irish and international sport. RTÉ Sport has secured the rights to air Katie Taylor's historic Croke Park fight, free-to-air for Irish audiences on RTÉ2, RTÉ Player, and 2FM on September 5.
Other sporting event coverage this season includes the Amgen Irish Open from Trump International Golf Links in Doonbeg, Co Clare, the Republic of Ireland Women facing Kazakhstan in a two-legged Women's European World Cup Qualifier play-off, the UEFA Champions League, The Irish Champions Festival, RTÉ’s Winter Racing Series, the Spar European Cross Country Championships, as well as action from both county and provincial finals as the Club Championships return with the Allianz National Leagues also returning in the New Year.
The broadcaster has also introduced RTÉ Listen, a new app offering listeners a live and on-demand listening experience across all stations.
