Several roads will be closed near Cork Airport tomorrow as a feature film starring Brad Pitt shoots scenes in the area.

A letter from Zadelle Films received by local residents and businesses confirmed roads will be closed on Friday while production for feature film One For All takes place.

Road scenes on the L455 will see parts of the road between Lios Cross and Pouladuff Road closed to traffic between 2pm and 6pm on May 1. It follows speculation that scenes for the movie will be filmed at the old terminal of Cork Airport.

“During the filming period this section of road will have a temporary closure, and traffic diversions will be in place,” the letter states.

“Access for local residents will be maintained, but delays may be expected.

“We depend on the patience and goodwill of local residents at all our filming locations.”

One For All is the upcoming big-screen adaptation of Tim Winton’s 1994 novel  The Riders. The A24 production marks a major collaboration between Pitt and acclaimed director Edward Berger.

The story is partly set in Ireland, making the country a key backdrop for the adaptation, and star Brad Pitt was seen filming in Dublin in February before jetting to the Greek island of Hydra later that month for the production, which is filming in multiple locations across Europe as well as around Ireland, including this week’s scenes in Cork.

The film centres on a father named Fred Scully, played by Pitt, who, after travelling through Europe for two years, buys an old farmhouse in rural Ireland and decides to renovate it.

Scully spends weeks alone while his partner, Jennifer, returns to Australia to liquidate his assets, but when Scully arrives at the airport in Ireland to pick up Jennifer and their daughter, Billie, he realises Jennifer is missing and embarks on a desperate search for her.

It is unclear whether Pitt is involved in the scenes being filmed on Friday but keen-eyed Corkonions will no doubt be on the lookout for the Hollywood star.
