First Dates Ireland: Oweny and Katie said they would see each other again after an enjoyable date.

Eight more daters entered the First Dates restaurant on Thursday in the hope of finding their match.

From conversations about surviving cancer to becoming a sperm donor, the most recent episode of First Dates had it all.

Raven and Conor

Raven who “just loves love” entered the First Dates restaurant in the hope that she would find a match.

Originally from LA, she moved to Ireland to pursue a masters at Trinity College Dublin.

Raven’s date Conor from Carlow also stated on screen how he loves love and how he would love to find the one.

The pair quickly hit it off at the bar before sitting in for dinner and chatting about all things family, Irish and American culture, their respective dating histories, tarot cards, and music.

Conor shared that he sings, plays harmonica, the guitar and the drums, and Raven spoke about how she previously worked in podcasting and loves to make short films.

They both spoke about the importance of supporting a partner in their chosen art form.

They went on to let each other know on the date that they were both enjoying each other's time and sad they would see each other again.

Ben and Saoirse

Karate fanatic Ben, who has never had a girlfriend, entered the restaurant with a positive attitude, saying “there’s a first time for everything”.

Describing his usual type as a musician, Conor said if his date came in and was acting like Jack Black, he would “already be in love”.

Enter musician Saoirse from Cork who said she would love it if her date was a fellow musician.

They quickly bonded over their love of music and performing.

Saoirse spoke about how she prefers to meet someone on a night out rather than scrolling to find a match on dating apps and said she loves when someone is creative, saying it’s what’s on the inside that’s most important.

The pair spoke about how they both come from very musical families and about their appreciation for growing up in a musical household.

Saoirse shared her story with bullying at just 13 years and how she used music as an escape.

Ben shared how his date with Saoirse was his first, having faced some awkwardness with a person in the past who thought they had been just having out as friends.

After their date, Ben said he would see Saoirse again but she said she would prefer not to see him again romantically.

Humming his way into the restaurant Oweny, who loves musicals and is always singing, said he would love someone to join him for some karaoke.

He said if he could date a character from a musical, it would be Glenda - the good witch from Wicked.

Katie, who said she would love to have someone in her life who is there for her, said she was a bit nervous but excited for her date.

She said she’d love to take care of someone and that she has a lot of love to give.

Oweny, who said he loves a good laugh, seemed smitten with Katie’s loveable laugh.

They spoke about their pasts and their love of pets, with Oweny saying his family had two and a half dogs as the neighbour’s dog prefers them and spends a lot of time at their house.

Katie opened up on screen about her cancer journey and how her positive outlook on life and wanting to find someone after a period of time of not looking after herself because she “didn’t care”.

“I think it was maybe me trying to not think about it, process it,” she said.

Oweny serenades the whole restaurant with his karaoke skills before the date wrapped up.

The pair said they would like to see each other again.

Reno and Andy

Originally from South Africa, Reno from Cork shared that he has been in Ireland for five years and hoped to find someone here.

Andy entered the First Dates restaurant hoping to find someone outdoorsy and outgoing.

Once the pair settled into their date, they began opening up about their life experiences, with Andy speaking about how he decided to become a sperm donor in Australia.

The pair said that while they both enjoyed their date, that they would like to continue as friends.
