Cinema: The Last Showgirl

General release, Friday, February 28

What a cast! Pamela Anderson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Dave Bautista, and Kiernan Shipka head up this drama. Anderson plays a middle-aged Las Vegas showgirl facing an uncertain future as her show comes to an end after 30 years. Directed by Gia Coppola and written by Kate Gersten, it’s adapted from Gersten’s own play, Body of Work.

Comedy: Peter McGann

The Everyman, Cork, Sunday, March 2

Chances are you’ve come across Peter McGann’s hilarious on-the-nose clips if you’re still on social media. Also enjoying some supporting acting roles in TV shows such as Good Boy (RTÉ Player) and Small Town, Big Story (see above), he brings his new standup show Ah No! to the Everyman. Expect talk of a flying column from Cork and D-list Irish content creators.

Concert: Sabrina Carpenter

3Arena, Dublin, Monday, March 3

It’s been less than a year since ‘Espresso’ was released and Sabrina Carpenter has gone from strength to strength, easily one of the biggest pop stars in the world. That's exemplified by the double Grammy wins to kickstart February. The last time she was in Dublin she played the Olympia Theatre in 2023 - less than two years on, even the 14,500-capacity 3Arena seems too small for her now.

Dance: Giovanni – The Last Dance

Cork Opera House, Thursday, March 6

Strictly Come Dancing professional Giovanni Pernice, who won the show in 2021, takes to the Opera House stage with a new two-hour show (including interval).
