Manchán Magan and Niamh Regan are both doing shows in Cork over the next week.
With some 95 Irish premieres, along with the usual shorts and other attractions across the week, the 69th Cork International Film Festival boasts special screenings too.

The documentary Rory Gallagher: Irish Tour '74 screens next Thursday, November 14, and features a Q&A with Donal Gallagher, Rory’s brother and manager, for example. Withnail & I director Bruce Robinson will be honoured at an event in the Triskel on Tuesday.
Presented by Cork Theatre Collective, SHOW features work by young playwrights Isolde Fenton, Irene Kelleher, John Francis Scally, and Dorothee Karekezi.

While Friday is invite only, Saturday runs 12.30pm until 6pm. Intended as a valuable constructive space, SHOW supports the artists in opening up their work to the public for feedback and enjoyment.
Having toured the England and Scotland over the past month with his Áran & Im show, Gaeilgeoir Manchán Magan returns to Cork on Monday. Subtitled Reconnecting to the Spirit of the Land, the 70-minute talk will examine the the creation myth as Magan looks at the raising awareness of the centrality of the goddess in all aspects of Irish culture, lore and ritual.
Based on the nonfiction bestseller of the same name by Patrick Radden Keefe, Say Nothing follows four families as they try to survive and navigate the Troubles in the North across the 1970s, 80s, and 90s.

Among a relatively unknown but expansive cast, Lola Petticrew stars as Dolours Price and Josh Finan is Gerry Adams. All nine episodes drop on Thursday.
Having released her second album Come As You Are earlier in the year, and with a string of appearances at festivals over the summer, Galway singer-songwriter Niamh Regan brings her full-band show to Cyprus Avenue on Thursday. While tracks such as Madonna sound great solo, Regan is also well capable of rocking out. Expect to be blown away by one of the country’s brightest young talents.
