Another date has been added to the Live at the Marquee line-up in Cork next summer, and it’s one that sells out every year.

Christy Moore’s return to the tent has been confirmed. It follows the release of a new song inspired by the Leeside festival, which Moore has performed annually since it began in 2005.

He will play Live at the Marquee Cork on Saturday, June 28. Tickets will go on sale on Thursday, October 31 at 9am from ticketmaster.ie.

Moore’s new album, A Terrible Beauty, will be released on November 1 and the latest single from this album ‘The Big Marquee’ was released earlier this week after first being played on the Two Norries Podcast last year. It includes the lyrics: “On the Banks of the River Lee / Saturday night we’re packed in tight / All together in The Big Marquee.”

Moore recently sold out 12 nights at Vicar Street, which will take place across this November, December and January.

Other acts confirmed for Live at the Marquee next year include The Waterboys, Tommy Tiernan, Olly Murs, The Coronas, and a trio of Rory Gallagher tribute gigs, led by Joe Bonamassa.
