Brad Pitt and George Clooney in Apple TV's Wolfs

Wolfs (15A) stars George Clooney and Brad Pitt as specialist fixers in the underworld field of body disposal.

Loners by vocation, the pair — each claiming to the best in the business — are forced to work together when they’re both called to a hotel room by an Assistant DA (Amy Ryan) to dispose of a young man (Austin Abrams) discovered dead amid a large stash of bricks of heroin.

Writer-director Jon Watts emphasises style and atmosphere over plot and character development, giving us long scenes full of Ocean’s Eleven-style bickering between the testosterone-fuelled duo.

Pitt and Clooney are as charming as ever, but the pacing is too slow to propel the twists and turns required of a quirky crime flick, while the leads’ comic chemistry only emerges in sporadic flashes.
