Barry Keoghan to join Cillian Murphy in Peaky Blinders film

Barry Keoghan and Cillian Murphy will appear in the Peaky Blinders film.
Saltburn star Barry Keoghan has joined the cast of the upcoming Peaky Blinders film with Cillian Murphy, Netflix has confirmed.
The Oscar-nominated actor who is also known for his roles in The Banshees of Inisherin and Love/Hate will feature opposite star Murphy and Rebecca Ferguson in the Tom Harper-directed film.
Details of Keoghan’s role are currently unknown.
The BBC drama ran for six series, from 2013 to 2022, and the Peaky Blinders film was green-lighted by Netflix in June.
Cork actor and Oscar winner Murphy is returning to his iconic role of Tommy Shelby. He will also co-produce the film.
“It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me,” Murphy said when the film was confirmed.

“It is very gratifying to be re-collaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders.
“This is one for the fans.”
Murphy won legions of fans for his performance as a member of the notorious Shelby family, before he dominated the awards season earlier this year for his starring role in Oppenheimer.
The 48-year-old took home an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a Bafta and a Screen Actors Guild award for his turn as theoretical physicist J Robert Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan’s biopic about the father of the atomic bomb.
Writer and creator Steven Knight has described the film as an “explosive chapter” in the story with “no holds barred”.
The original series followed the Shelby family, a gang rising to prominence in post-First World War Birmingham.
Knight previously confirmed the cast are set to begin filming in Birmingham in September, and the film will follow the family into the Second World War.
