This is the third year of the fledgling literary festival, which focuses on crime writing. Set on Spike Island, it’s a popular festival featuring some of the biggest names in crime writing. This year authors including Jo Spain, Arlene Hunt, Sinéad Crowley, Neil Lancaster and former state pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy, who will all take part in author panels. There will also be an opportunity for aspiring writers to get real-world advice from a renowned literary agent.

After a cancelled gig last September, due to a health scare with Travis Barker’s wife, Kourtney Kardashian, the '90s pop punk rockers return to Ireland this Tuesday for the first time with the original line-up since they re-united in 2022. Barker, Tom DeLonge and Mark Hoppus will play Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Dublin, on Tuesday, August 27. Among the other upcoming gigs in the capital are The The, at Collins Barracks on Sunday, August 25.
