Live at the Marquee, The Killers and more: 10 gigs for June in Cork and Dublin

Highlights of the month from this year's lineup of the Marquee include Belfast electronic duo Bicep (Sun June 2); 2000s US R&B singer Ne-Yo (Wed 12 & Thurs 13); Christy Moore (Sat 15); Lyra (Sun 16) and Mick Flannery (Fri 21).

Among other big gigs across town, on the other hand, are: Sting & Blondie (Tues June 18); Take That (Thurs 20); Belters Only (Fri 21); Crowded House & The Waterboys (Sun 23); Cork's own Cian Ducrot (Fri 28); and in their apparent Cork farewell, The Wolfe Tones (Sat 29).
The man they called 'God', and the former Ireland international gaffer, share their memories and experiences in Jackie's Army as they ventured Stateside to play for Ireland in the 1994 World Cup. Tickets include photo-ops and meet 'n' greet.
In their only advertised Irish appearance this summer, avant-trad heroes Lankum headline a curated one-day festival in the city centre. Others on the billing include Mogwai, Black Country New Road, Mercury Rev, Cormac Begley and Cork band Ana Palindrome.
Part of the ongoing Cork Midsummer Festival, the Opera House presents its annual summer spectacular alongside its Concert Orchestra — Irish rock and pop are celebrated on the 12th and 13th; Dvořák’s New World Symphony and Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue are aired on the 16th; and the best of musical theatre is explored on the 19th and 20th.
