Colm Meaney and Aidan Gillen to star in new docudrama on Sophie Toscan du Plantier case
Colm Meaney, Jim Sheridan, and Aidan Gillen are involved in Re-creation, a film about the Sophie Toscan du Plantier murder.
An upcoming docu-drama film that sees director Jim Sheridan revisit the Sophie Toscan du Plantier case has added two homegrown stars to its cast.
Colm Meaney ( , ) and Aidan Gillen ( , ) will join the cast of , centred around the unsolved 1996 murder of the French television and film producer in Schull, West Cork.
Sheridan co-directs the film alongside David Merriman, while actor Vicky Krieps ( ) is already confirmed for the film's cast, returning to the case after documentary series .

“Colm and Aidan both have starred in some of my favourite films and shows,” Merriman told IFTN. “As artists, they both elevate any project, and we are so grateful to have them onboard.”
“I am delighted to have two icons of Irish cinema join the cast,” added Sheridan, who is also an executive producer on the project.
Documentary sections of the production will have been filmed in Ireland, France and the US, with the drama sections of the film shooting on a sound stage in Luxembourg.
is expected to receive a theatrical release later this year, supported by Screen Ireland, Film Fund Luxembourg, and Eurimages.
