Dancing with the Stars: Katja Mia sent home as two celebrities get perfect scores

Katja Mia just missed out on a place in the Dancing with the Stars semi final

Katja Mia has missed out on a place in the Dancing with the Stars semi-final, having been sent home on Sunday night.

The Six O'Clock Show presenter found herself in the dance-off for the second week in a row, this time with drag queen Blu Hydrangea.

All three judges decided to save Blue, who they had given a perfect score of 30 to earlier in the night.

Leaving the dance floor for the final time, Katja said, "I think I surprised myself with how long I lasted.. it's a memory I won't forget."

Her partner Ervinas said she had been "the definition of a perfect student".

Earlier in the night, Katja had received a score of 28, receiving a ten from Arthur.

"The only way to come back from the dance-off is to come back fighting, and that is exactly what you did," judge Arthur Gourounlian had said. Fellow judge Brian Redmond had added, "you make difficult things look easy."

Elsewhere, two celebrities scored perfect scores this week - Blu and Laura Fox.

The radio DJ and television presenter received a standing ovation from all three judges for her Charleston.

"The Charleston really suited you... you were kicking, you were jumping, you were twirling... I think you are the Charleston diva," Arthur said.

Head judge Loraine Barry said she could "really see the hard work," saying the lifts were "fantastic".

"Honestly? I see this as a box office success," she said.

Blu Hydrangea also earned a perfect score of 30 for her quickstep to Texas Hold 'Em by Beyoncé.

Arthur said the drag queen has "a star quality that is priceless".

Loraine, meanwhile, said she had a "beautiful line.. all the way to the fingertip.. absolute perfection."

The lowest scorer of the night was Davy Russell who performed a Cha-Cha-Cha.

Loraine said the legs were "a little bit stiff," and it "wasn't quite fluid, it wasn't quite flowing".

"We needed a little bit more of a sexy, cheeky hip."

He scored 21, putting him bottom of the leaderboard.

Just above him was Jason Smyth who had opened the show with a jive.

"The energy was absolutely brilliant," judge Brian said, commenting that it was a "really good jive." Judge Arthur meanwhile said he had "finally" given the performance "I knew you had in you". He scored 23.

Wild Youth's David Whelan continued to impress the judges this week with his Paso Doble.

"I'm so glad you did a Paso Doble," Arthur said. "You have dance flowing in your DNA."

Brian said he was thrilled with "90% of it," but "there was the odd moment when you just needed to balance a little earlier".

He scored 28, including a ten from Arthur.

This week, the celebrities also had team dances, with Laura, James and David being paired up with... host Jennifer Zamperelli.

Davy, Blu and Katja meanwhile had host Doireann Garrihy joining them on the floor for their performance.

Jennifer's team scored 29, an almost perfect score, while Doireann's team, scored 28.
