Operation Transformation review: Darragh's dad, Zumba beats, and Noel's kitchen among the highlights

If this week’s engaging episode of Operation Transformation demonstrates anything, it is that there is more than one way to say ‘I love you’
Operation Transformation review: Darragh's dad, Zumba beats, and Noel's kitchen among the highlights

Operation Transformation participants Noel, Michelle, Darragh, Anne and Edel.

Our first participant under the microscope on Operation Transformation this week is Darragh, who is in the process of planning a wedding with his partner Yvonne. Darragh and Yvonne have been in a relationship for 15 years, so it is what in Ireland we would call, a whirlwind romance.

A trip to Corbally, in Limerick, shows a Darragh who is spending more time at home with his kids, and both he and his family are reaping the rewards. When Darragh tells his father he loves him, the moment is made particularly poignant by the fact his father has lost his voice a few years ago following illness. “I love you too,” the older man mouths, and only the most stone-hearted viewer will emerge from this scene minus a lump in their throat.
