After the sunny success of this year’s festival, it was to be expected that even more people would be hoping to head along to Electric Picnic 2024.
Tickets for next year’s festival officially sold out within one hour of going on sale on Friday morning.
Both loyalty tickets and general administration tickets for Electric Picnic 2024 went on sale on Ticketmaster at 9am on Friday morning and were snapped up in under an hour by Electric Picnic fans.
All General Admission, Family Camping and Campervan and Loyalty tickets are now sold out.
2024 marks 20 years of Electric Picnic with the festival returning to Stradbally, Co Laois at an earlier date next year — from Friday, August 16 to Sunday, August 18 with an increased capacity of 5,000. This means that there will be 75,000 people heading to the festival next year.
Festival Director Melvin Benn has said that the new date is just a one-time change that was made in order to attract a “specific artist.” However, we’re still not sure of who that artist is.
Friday morning’s ticket sale came after the presale on Thursday morning for those who attended this year’s festival. When the new dates for Electric Picnic 2024 were announced in late August, there was also a surprise presale.
Organisers previously said that there would be a final ticket sale on October 1, which is earlier than the usual final sale considering the new dates. This year also saw the use of a loyalty scheme that allowed regular attendees to get tickets at a special discounted price.
The much-anticipated lineup for Electric Picnic will be revealed next year.
