Clare Grogan, musician, actress, and singer

Clare Grogan grew up in a house of music enthusiasts: among three generations, including her granny, spinning vinyl — playing anything from David Bowie and Simple Minds to Doris Day and Herb Alpert.

The singer and actress admits there was a muted response from her family when the then-teenager began to have post-punk and new-wave-inspired pop hits of her own including 'Happy Birthday' and 'I Could Be Happy' soon after leaving school: “I thought they were a bit disinterested in the nicest possible way."
