Here's the buttery smooth landing of flight VS43

Cool as you like.

Earlier today, flight VS43 from Gatwick airport to Las Vegas had to turn back due to a landing gear problem, in a story which unfolded live online as the pilots were forced to make an emergency landing.

When the moment arrived, however, it couldn't have gone smoother – if video footage is anything to go by.

The BBC news helicopter was on hand to capture the touchdown, and while it's not quite perfect - with a slight bump on first touchdown - for a plane without all its wheels down, it's smooth as can be.

The captain's earned himself a night off, we think.
