Dublin's coastguard was called for an unusual request when a baby porpoise got stranded on Portmarnock beach yesterday.

The Irish Whale and Dolphin Group needed help to save the dolphin-like creature.

After some initial hesitation it successfully returned to the water and swam back into the Irish Sea.

The coast guard would like to remind the public to be careful in the water.
