Parents in England are up in arms over an advertisement for milk that has got their kids repeating the words "Not on our watch, pussies".

The 'Catnapped' advert from Cravendale is part of a series based on the idea that milkmen are locked in a battle with felines who are trying to steal away their supplies.

But the final line has shocked some viewers, who say the advert should not have been shown on TV before the 9pm watershed.

Here we have a sample of the reaction from the website Netmums and from Twitter.

But it wasn't all negative. It is yet to be seen if the ad will be reported to the Advertising Standards Authority.

We look at other ads that have sparked controversy around the globe.

1. With the Super Bowl last night, we have one here from Budweiser that didn't air during the sports extravaganza in 2007 as it was deemed too controversial.

2. Ikea’s advertising campaign called “Tidy Up” and made up of five 30-second ads, was first launched in France in September 2001. If you have a weak stomach, turn away towards the end of the second one.

3. Those cheeky boys at Irn Bru got a number of complaints that this ad was distressing to children, but the complaints weren't upheld since it was not being shown around programmes targeted at children.

4. BANG! This next TV ad for the Xbox 360 console was never aired, but made the rounds on the internet.

5. Our final one, which was for cinema use only, was voted the best advertisement on the big screens ever. Why? It has Kylie Minogue riding a mechanical bull in see-through lingerie. Need we say more?

For those of you wondering about the milk ad, here it is.
