Perry 'to launch fashion label'

Katy Perry could be set launch her own fashion label.

The 'California Gurls' singer, known for her quirky fashion sense, is reportedly in talks with shoe designer Steve Madden to create her own clothing and footwear collection, although reports have not been confirmed.

A source said: "Katy has won plaudits all over the world for her sense of style and the next logical step is for her to have her own clothing range.

"It will definitely be a hit with her legion of fans."

As well as her own fashion line, it was recently revealed Katy is to launch her own scent, Purr by Katy Perry.

Speaking about the perfume, which includes peach nectar, apple, green bamboo, jasmine blossom and vanilla orchid as its ingredients, Katy said: "There are amazing fragrances backed by other celebrities, but what I'm bringing is not like any other. It wasn't just like: 'I love gardenias.'

"That would have been the easy route. I really wanted to develop a scent that was completely unlike anything I'd smelled before and not one that smelled like a knockoff of another scent. I'd never want to do anything 'just because'."

Purr by Katy Perry is to be launched next month.
