Bailey Rae thrilled with Glasto gig

Corinne Bailey Rae was honoured to perform at this year's Glastonbury.

The 'Put Your Records On' hitmaker played a set on Pyramid Stage at last weekend's festival and admits appearing at the world famous music event gave her a "massive buzz".

She said during an interview with UK station Absolute Radio: "Glastonbury represents for me musicians who are making music that people wanna hear and people engage with and I've always wanted to play there.

"It's a real honour to be invited on to the Pyramid Stage and feel like people like this, people get it, people get what you do and all of those feelings are still really new for me so it's a massive buzz looking out and the crowd's getting bigger and bigger with every song."

The singer - who lost her husband Jason Rae after he died from an accidental drugs overdose in 2008 - also revealed what she loves about making music is that she knows her songs are going to outlive her.

Corrine - who released her first album in four years in January - explained: "I think that's one of the upsides about making music.

"You're making something that's going into the world, that's going to outlive you, that's gonna mean one thing to someone and a completely different thing to someone else, and people are going to ask you about it. I like to not over explain the songs because, I think, sometimes I've heard songs and interpreted them in my own way and they mean so much to me.

"It goes out into the world and I think that's a great thing about making music."
