If you’re making a film that pokes fun at its subject – in this case all those recent dance films – the emphasis ought really to be on fun. This one doesn’t come close.

We have street dancer Thomas (Wayans Jnr) from the wrong side of the tracks teaming up with classy Megan (Bush) to compete in the big dance competition … after which you don’t need to know much else since nothing is made of the idea in a film where the acting – particularly that of Junior – is awful and, worse still, the dance routines are dismal.

We get the usual stereotypes and no originality.
