Hoffman to make directorial debut
Philip Seymour Hoffman is to make his directorial debut with a romantic comedy called 'Jack Goes Boating'.
The Oscar-winning actor will helm and star in the movie, an adaptation of an off-Broadway play by Bob Glaudini about two misfits living in New York City.
'Gone Baby Gone' actress Amy Ryan will star opposite Hoffman, with John Ortiz and Daphne Rubin-Vega reprising their roles from the stage production.
The show will be overseen by Overture Films, the company which signed a deal with Hoffman's production house Cooper's Town last year.
Overture's chief operating officer Danny Rosett said: "Phil is such a unique talent, and this opportunity to work his creative mojo not just in front of the camera but also from the director's chair is just irresistible for us."
