Johnson rocks in The Game Plan

It may be a well-worn plotline – fast-living dude enjoying the single life suddenly discovers he’s the father of an eight-year-old daughter – but if it’s done well, or reasonably well as here, it can still stagger through to a passably satisfying conclusion.

The film brings us yet another cute little moppet in Petts, doubtless destined for Hollywood stardom or a sad end, such is the nature of cute little moppets in Hollywood.

Johnson, The Rock, comes across quite well as the dad suddenly facing serious life alterations in a film that’s better than you might expect.
