Burton honoured in Venice

Director Tim Burton has been honoured with a lifetime achievement award at the Venice Film Festival for his groundbreaking filmmaking.

The Edward Scissorhands moviemaker was hailed by the Italian festival judges on Wednesday as "one of America's bravest, most visionary and innovative filmmakers" and was presented with the coveted Golden Lion accolade by frequent collaborator, Johnny Depp.
