McCartney was hopeful of 'happy resolution'

Paul McCartney was hopeful of a "happy resolution" to his divorce from Heather Mills, before accusations of domestic abuse leaked to press last week.

British newspapers printed alleged court documents in which Mills claims the former Beatle attacked her when she was pregnant and, on another occasion, stabbed her in the arm with a broken wine glass.
