Arctic Monkeys almost split in early days

British rockers Arctic Monkeys were so frustrated with their lack of progress before they found fame, they almost split up.

The I Bet You Look Good on the Dance Floor band have since landed the fastest-selling debut album in UK chart history with 2005's Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not.

However, things weren't always so good.

Frontman Alex Turner tells British magazine New!: "When we first started the band, we almost stopped doing it because we were getting so fed up.

"There was some drama and we were like: 'We can't be a*sed any more.'"
