Peter Andre has been made an ambassador for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) in Britain.

The singer - and husband of glamour model Jordan - said he was "thrilled" to be taking on the role with the organisation.

"As a father the NSPCC is a charity that I care about deeply," he said.

The Aussie pop star nominated the NSPCC as his benefit charity when he took part in reality show 'I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!' in 2004.

He joins fellow NSPCC ambassadors Kylie Minogue, Catherine Zeta Jones and England rugby star Jonny Wilkinson.
