Martin sold for £5,000

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has gone under the hammer for £5,000 (€7,400) at an auction to raise money for a local primary school in his adopted hometown of London.

The bidder, a father who beat numerous rivals to the prize, will receive a special visit from Martin at his own home within six months of the Auction Of Promises, which was held at London's Canonbury Primary School on Thursday).
