Snow Patrol’s new offering tops British album charts

Snow Patrol's new album Eyes Open has gone straight in at number one in the British charts.

The Northern Irish band fended off competition from US grunge giants Pearl Jam, who made it to number five with their eponymous album.

Tool's 10,000 days also went straight in at number four.

In the singles chart, Gnarls Barkley continues to dominate with Crazy, despite being knocked off the top of the album charts by Snow Patrol.
