Fighter jet movie crashes and burns

Top Gun (Paramount) may have been an overblown film, with Tom Cruise playing a rookie fighter pilot, but it’s now out in a double disc special edition.

Kelly McGillis provides the love interest, but the all macho cast are too much.

In fairness, the extras are quite tempting, with a seven-part, two-hour making of documentary, interviews, storyboards, several other featurettes and five music videos.

Not a bad package, just a pity the film doesn’t measure up.
