Baby joy for Schiffer

Model Claudia Schiffer has given birth to her second child with husband Matthew Vaughn, a 3.2kg (7lbs 2oz) baby girl.

The tot, a sister for the couple's 22-month-old son Caspar, was born at 11am yesterday at London's Portland Hospital.

Both mother and daughter are said to be doing well, and filmmaker Vaughn is "thrilled" with the birth of his "beautiful daughter".

He says, "We are absolutely thrilled at our newest addition to our family. I would like to thank my beautiful wife Claudia for giving me an equally beautiful daughter, a little sister for Caspar.

"Claudia and I would like to pass on our thanks to everyone at the Portland Hospital."
