Streisand back on the big screen

Returning to movies for the first time in eight years, Barbra Streisand is preparing to play Mrs Focker in Meet the Fockers with Dustin Hoffman. They star as Ben Stiller’s parents. She’s been considering the role for months and has finally signed a deal.

The film goes into production later this month and will be released at Christmas. Streisand’s last on-screen appearance was in the romantic comedy; The Mirror has Two Faces, which bombed at the box office. Before that she directed and starred in the romantic hit The Prince of Tides.
