King novel to made into TV film

Horror writer Stephen King's apocalyptic novel Desperation is to be made into a three-hour television film.

King, who is recovering from a serious bout of pneumonia, has already written the screenplay, based on his 1996 book about a man who ends up in a bizarre mining town in Nevada after being arrested by the strange local sheriff.
