Film industry fears cuts in tax incentives
One of the big losers in today's Budget could be the Film industry if tax breaks for multi-national production companies are scrapped.
The tax incentive is largely responsible for making the country a top location for moviemakers and providing vital employment for those in the sector.
If the incentive is binned, it's feared the biggest film producers, and the big budget productions, will abandon the country and go elsewhere.
The chairman of IBEC's Audiovisual Federation, John Cummins, said the economy gets a good deal from the incentive as the tax foregone is much less than the net gains.
