Goldie shows his heart of gold
Celebrity Big Brother contestant and DJ Goldie has sent a £5,000 (€7,225) donation to a children’s home to help send youngsters on holiday, it emerged today.
The Stroud Avenue Children’s Home in Willenhall, West Midlands – where the star lived while in the care of Walsall Social Services – said the cash would be spent on taking youngsters for a week at Pontins in Brixham, Devon.
The well-known musician was due to visit the home two weeks ago, but had to cancel the event due to an urgent meeting in London.
Home manager Alison Blackwood said: “We are so grateful for the cheque from Goldie, which we received in the post – the youngsters will be able to have a fantastic holiday.
“Goldie couldn’t come and present the cheque himself as he is really busy at the moment but we really appreciate all his help and support.
“He has donated money to Stroud Avenue before.”
