Hunter drops Stewart divorce proceedings

Rachel Hunter dropped divorce proceedings against Rod Stewart after just three days, it emerged today.

The New Zealand-born model had cited irreconcilable differences for the split with the rocker.

But papers filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court show that just 72 hours after starting proceedings last month she withdrew the petition.

No reason was given for the sudden change of heart.

The couple had agreed to share custody of their 11-year-old daughter, Renee, and eight-year-old son Liam.

But they had not reached a deal over the division of assets. Stewart has amassed a multi-million pound fortune after a long career in showbusiness.

Hunter, 33, married Stewart, 57, in 1990. Their relationship ended in 1999.
