Reilly focuses on next project

John C Reilly, who co-starred in three of this year’s five Oscar-nominated films, has picked his next project after sifting through a stack of offers.

He is to star as a confidence trickster in Criminal, a remake of an Argentinian film, which is being produced by George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh, who co-wrote the English version of the screenplay.

Reilly, who was Oscar-nominated for Chicago and was also featured in Gangs of New York and The Hours, will co-star with the Mexican actor Diego Luna in the story of two men who team up on a scheme involving a forged set of valuable stamps.

Filming is to begin in June.
