Slane tickets sell out in 2.5 hours

Promoters MCD have announced that all 80,000 tickets for the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert at Slane Castle this year sold out in two-and-a-half hours this morning.

Spokesman Justin Green said the concert has become the fastest-selling show in Irish music history with the exception of U2's recent gig at Slane.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers will be supported by Foo Fighers, Queens of the Stone Age, PJ Harvey and Feeder for the August 23rd event.
