Angels taken off the small screen after nine years

Small screen news for fans of the long-running Touched by an Angel ... it's being pulled.

The Stateside series stars Derry-born actress Roma Downey as Monica, a winged one who visits Earth to help those in trouble, and quite often requires help herself, but after nine seasons, CBS have announced it's to end in May with a special finale.

Prior to Angel, the Emmy and Golden Globe nominee famously portrayed Jackie Kennedy in the mini-series, A Woman Like Jackie. She was also with the Abbey Players.
