Bolan's son marks 25th anniversary exhibition

Late music icon Marc Bolan’s son marked a quarter of a century since his death today with the launch of a photographic exhibition.

Rolan Bolan visited London’s Proud Central Gallery to see the collection of images, called Marc Bolan - A 20th Century Superstar, which opens to the public tomorrow.

The chart star died in a car accident when his car hit a tree on Barnes Common on September 16, 1977.

Bolan was one of the pioneers of glam rock and had a string of hits including 20th Century Boy and the number ones Metal Guru and Get It On.

Rolan, 27, saw rare and unseen photographs from some of the world’s top snappers at the exhibition which continues to September 16.

The musician’s death is also being marked with a 4-CD box set and the biography Marc Bolan: The Rise And Fall Of A 20th Century Superstar, which has been written by the show’s co-curator Mark Paytress.
