Axl Rose stands by Guns N' Roses world tour

Axl Rose says all the dates on Guns N' Roses world tour will go ahead, despite online rumours to the contrary.

Axl Rose says all the dates on Guns N' Roses world tour will go ahead, despite online rumours to the contrary.

This includes the band's headline slot at the Leeds Carling festival on August 23, and the London Docklands Arena on August 26.

The band pulled UK dates in June and December last year, but Rose says he has personally authorised this year's gigs.

Speaking on the band's official website, Rose said: This is a collection of performances I've agreed to.

"That I have personally authorised not someone else's good intentions gone awry or a reckless promoter's personal agenda.

"These shows are important to us and for better or worse we'll be there. For those who've had my back and are down by us with even a modicum of understanding we hope to give you our best, and look forward to seeing you on this little intro jaunt."

The band's world tour kicks off today at Hong Kong Exhibition Hall, and their new album Chinese Democracy is due out in September.

Rose added: "Now that we feel that we have clarity as to the album we're trying to make, we're wrapping it up.

"We've had every obstacle and every strange occurrence that you can have and for us to be playing Hong Kong in a few days is a big step. Everyone's excited and everyone's nervous."
