MTV to celebrate 15 years of broadcasting in Europe

MTV is to mark its 15th anniversary of broadcasting in Europe on August 1.

The music channel will screen a special programme featuring the most popular videos from each of the past 15 years.

Landmark videos included in the programme include Money For Nothing from Dire Straits.

The groundbreaking video combining animation and live action received the highest rotation airplay in MTV Europe's first year, 1987.

MTV - 15 Years In Europe will be shown on MTV UK & Ireland at 10pm on August 1.
