Robbie is looking for love, says best mate

Robbie Williams' best friend Jonathan Wilkes says the singer is desperate to have a serious relationship.

Jonathan says they both share the need to have someone to come home to.

Robbie is rumoured to be dating New York socialite Victoria Schweizer.

"Rob would love to have a girlfriend and a serious relationship," Jonathan told Now magazine.

"He very much shares my need to have someone to come home to, but it doesn't happen over night, does it? It takes time and he just needs to be patient.

"We all spend our lives looking for love. What's life without love? Careers, fame and money are nothing without it."

Jonathan goes on to say his friendship with Robbie has hindered his own pop career.

He says: "People judged me on my name and who I was, rather than the single and what I sounded like.

"Looking back, I can understand what people must have thought of me. I was set up as being Robbie Williams' best mate and people were saying 'So?'"

But Jonathan adds that one of his favourite pulling lines is: "I'm Robbie Williams's best mate. It has to be the best chat-up line in history."
