Director 'takes credit' for Cruz/Cruise chemistry

Penelope Cruz says Cameron Crowe should take credit for the chemistry between her and Tom Cruise.

The couple started dating in the summer after meeting on the set of Vanilla Sky.

Cruz praised Crowe's vision as a director.

She said: "What he created on the set was magic from day one. He's the one that made everyone comfortable there and created a good environment for everyone to work well."

Cruz added that she didn't mind being asked about her relationship with Cruise.

She said: "I would never give details about it and I think everyone understands why - because that is the only way to maintain some reality."
